Key- Green = latest update What I felt when I got into the Envirokids group I felt very excited and happy because I quite like gardening, and anything to do with nature.I am very looking forward to creating our own vegetable garden. 16.05.11 Today we did a research on a topic we chose. I was working with Kaitlyn McCutchan, and we chose worm farms. Not everyone did worm farms, but Kaitlyn and I decided to do it. 19.05.11 On the newsletter it said to bring a dfghjkjhgfdschange of clothes next Monday. I wonder what we are going to do..... 23.05.11 Today we made the garden beds. It was very fun. We did a lot of hammering and nailing. 13.06.11 Today we (Montrose, Daisy, Sonya and I) painted the hand prints of the whole school. It was very fun.The paint was very cold and slimy. To begin with, I did red, Sonya did blue, Daisy did yellow and Montrose did green.But then all the others' paint ran out, so Sonya changed to grey (but then she used some of my red and made it purple), Daisy changed to brown/gold and Montrose changed to black. I was still red. 20.06.11 Today we did some learning on compost bins. We watched a video about composting, and had to write down a lot of things about composting (the greens and the browns), but it was still fun. 04.07.11 Today was one of the "action" days. We walked down from our school to Lake Hakanoa, walked around the lake and then walked back. We took photos and picked up lots of rubbish along the way. In fact, we picked up about 7 bags of rubbish!!! 11.07.11 Today we looked at the photos that we took on our walk. It was very interesting to look at. 01.09.11 These few weeks, we have put the garden beds in place, and started building the fence. The fence poles are already in, and the concrete has also been poured into the holes. A couple of weeks ago, Kaitlynn P, Joel, Liam and I went to Hamilton with Mrs Roberts. We brought some gardening things, and also brought some. 05.09.11 Today we planned our diffrent gardens, and also planted some seeds. It was really fun. I planted some lettuce and peas. 12.09.11 Today we did a reflection on what we have done so far. We also had to start either a poster or video on what we have done so far. 26.09.11 Today we sowed some more seeds, and also we got to see the new mesh on the fence!
